Edison Chapman

Hey, my name is Edison. I am 21 years old and have lived in Ōtautahi my whole life. I’m a positive friendly figure who is polite, respectful and accepting of everyone’s beliefs, culture, sexual orientation and gender. I am very passionate about music and have an extensive CD collection. I’ve started collecting from the age of six, and the big chart hits have been a staple of my life and interests ever since. Music is always playing in my world.

I’m still learning about who I really am and how autism and ADHD plays a role in my life and personality. It can make me seem unspoken and unheard when put in a new environment. But don’t let that deter you from me, because after a couple of weeks when I’ve gotten used to my new surroundings, I am right into it and more willing to show off my personality. I am a reliable worker who is committed to showing up on time and getting a set list of tasks done. I find myself pretty versatile and able to adapt myself into many different roles and environments.

Currently, at Bassline, I am enlisted on the programming and digital teams, but I’m also willing to expand outside of that and learn much more. One of my fondest memories here so far was a session last year where the class took turns voicing different kinds of ads. I had a lot of fun exploring different but fitting voices for the scripts given. I think that this is an area that I want to explore more in the future. I also really enjoyed working in production.

One of my favourite things about Broadcasting School is working with people who are all passionate about the same thing. I really enjoy the people I’m working with on Bassline and am also looking forward to the future in the industry.
